so in this au, harry and louis were best friends since birth since their mums were best friends too. they were incredibly close and actually ended up in a relationship when they turned 16 + 18. that was also the year that harry decided to audition for x factor... and he ended up in 1D. louis went to all of his live shows and supported him through everything, even when one direction started getting really big and they began touring. surprisingly they manage to make their relationship last, even though harry ends up touring the world while louis is stuck in london going to uni and working at starbucks. unfortunately they're not even allowed to come out about their relationship since their managements is afraid that they'll lose fans if the most popular member is gay so harry gets the reputation of the 'manwh.ore.' and has a lot of beards such as taylor, caroline, and eleanor (and yes i'm aware she's not really a model... she just is in this au) buttt eventually harry gets tired of it and reveals in an interview with alan carr that he's actually been in a relationship with someone for several years now and everyone speculates until one day the two of them are seen holding hands and yeah. i really wish i was better at explaining these.

it's weird because just a few minutes after i started making this everyone on tumblr started talking about what would happen if 1D went to hogwarts it was like they were reading my mind.
 
but anyway~~ this one is pretty self explanatory lol, harry and louis both go to hogwarts, harry is a gryffindor and louis is a slytherin (it takes place present day so there really aren't that many issues between those two houses anymore) anddd yeah i don't have an exact story line but i can definitely imagine them being bffs like james and sirius were (except no one dies or gets accused of murder) and then eventually end up falling in love.
 
and the other three boys are their friends too (hufflepuff niall and liam and ravenclaw zayn)

so this au is really popular with tumblr lol. basically harry is the slightly weird, really sweet kid who likes to wear flowers in his hair and louis is the misunderstood punk kid who doesn't have any friends, dyes his hair crazy colors, and does nothing but draw all the time. everyone is afraid of louis because of his looks - including harry. harry starts failing one of his classes and the teacher gives him a tutor who just so happens to be louis who's surprisingly really smart. as they hang out louis and harry both get to know each other and realize that the first impression they both had was wrong and they fall in love and yeah.

okay so in this au one direction consists of just louis, niall, liam, and zayn, while harry is a "boy directioner" (i hate that term but that's what he is haha.) his favorite is louis who he's pretty much in love with, and he's a stereotypical tumblr/twitter fangirl who has a bunch of followers on both websites. anyway there's this contest to get to go to a 1D concert (front row) and meet the boys backstage and harry enters, and since it's just whoever gets the most votes harry ends up winning. he's really really nervous when he meets them but it ends up going well and since louis is openly gay in this au he flirts with harry a little. and thennnn louis follows harry on twitter and they talk on there for a while over dms and get to know each other and become really good friends and then when their tour is over louis and harry start hanging out a lot and they end up dating and yeah. they keep the relationship a secret at first (or at least try to... it's pretty obvious) but eventually they come out and everything is happy :)
 
i'm so terrible at explaining these lol. oh well.

sooo i think i'm going to do a series of au sets which will be about aus that i want to write but never will because i suck at writing fic.
 
but okay explanation to this au~ so harry (who's from holmes chapel) and louis (from doncaster but moved to new york with his family when he was 15) meet on tumblr and they instantly become best friends. their friendship eventually develops into a relationship and even though they're a whole ocean apart they still manage to make things work. and then on louis' birthday his mum gives him tickets to fly to holmes chapel for two weeks so they can meet each other in person and spend their one year anniversary together :)) and i explained that terribly haha but yeah.
